100% Solved:Windows could not complete the installation

In this post, I'll describe two simple methods using which will resolve a reboot loop issue in Windows 7.
This problem usually occurs when a fresh Windows installation is interrupted before a user account is created.
The following error message is displayed

Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation.

On clicking okay the system reboots and again the same error message "Windows could not complete the installation" is reported. This loop continues in the same fashion.

neilmahaseth this does not work on Windows 10.
msoobe does not open any window and mmc does not show 'local users and groups' under 'system tools'.

I believe all users under Windows 10 are stuck like me.

neilmahaseth Similar error is being faced on my laptop. It occurred after a forced windows installation abruptly ended and the following restarted resulting in such error.
Apparently there is no media from which installation is happening buy it was windows updates.

Like few others, the methods are not working.
1. Do not see Local Users and Groups option ( there is no user management enabled on laptop?)
2. Msoobe command literally doesn't see any window popping up

Please can you guide with any other alternatives? I literally don't have any other supporting installation drives/CD's/USB's.

Appreciate any guidance.

Which method did you follow ?

Do you get this prompt after you login into your administrator account ?

If after performing the above two methods still you are unable to complete the windows installation. This in most cases indicates that the windows installation media is corrupted. I would suggests to try installing windows using a different install disk.

After trying both the methods perfectly it's showing
the installation is not successful changes made during the installation process are being undone
Please help me!!

AbhishekPonnappa In that case you should try installing windows using a different installation disk/medium.

SimonMushombe Hi Simon. If after performing the two methods you are still facing the problem then it means the windows install disk are corrupted. I would suggest you to install using a different install disk.

AraseeAnyaSungalee For some versions of windows like "home" the option of local users and groups is disabled... for those people try using these commands in the command prompt
net user administrator /active:yes
net user administrator mypass
After that you should be able to login using the password "mypass"

i did method 1 and went thru and set up an acct and i cant get past the connect to the internet step

Ok so I tried these was working and then it went to install updates after then bsod reboot loop.. I'm trying one more time x.x but idk what to do am using Alienware m17xr2 windows 7 ultimate. I ended up having to use both methods. An I accidentally had bumped my USB drive when installing it which is what interrupted the first attempt I've also noticed that it's been flickering.

mouta same here. Was yours resulted by a forced update installation needing multiple restarts and that at one of the restart it resulted in this error?
